Americans may be the founders of peanut butter and consequently the biggest consumers of that production, us asians still prefer seeing the little nut whole on our tables.
But no matter which culture we come from, we all agree that we are krazy about peanuts!
It is high in the good fats section, ie. monounsaturated fats, it is a storehouse of Vitamin E, folic acid, fibre and minerals like copper, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus and includes plant protein, arginine.
Naturally cholesterol free, satisfies hunger with greater success, it also helps dieters stick to their weight loss diets better by sustaining the feeling of being full longer than any food.
Peanuts makes surprisingly good beer nuts too! Here's 3 ways I prepare them as beer nuts.
Method 1
Deep fry raw peanuts in oil till golden brown. Remove from frying pan. Leavea tbsp of oil in pan and dry laver into pan. Fry slowly into a crisp. Add peanuts into pan again and coat laver bits. Add salt or sugar to taste.
Method 2
Boil peanuts in a pot of water with star anise, peppercorn and salt. Peanuts are done when water in pot completely dried up.
Method 3
Boil peanuts in plain water, remove once peanuts float on water surface. Dry completely before deep frying. Add salt to taste.
